His early interest in the field was spurred by associations with a number of 20th Century dealer icons including Israel Sack, Clarence Pickett and Val Jacobsen, among others. Mr. Sergeant is a respected authority in American, English and European antiques and his deep knowledge of distinctive and important decorative arts is his most valuable asset. He has been featured in numerous trade publications and magazines such as Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Veranda, and notably on the cover of House &Gardenwith a feature article profiling his own home. He is a long-timemember of the Art & Antiques Dealers League of America, The International Federation of Art & Antique Dealers Association, and the Antiques Council.
