Washington Winter Show 2022

January 6, 2022 Dear Friends: Welcome to the 67th annual Washington Winter Show! At PNC, we believe that being part of the community is about much more than our physical location. We take pride in our community relationships and efforts to enhance the places where we live and work. That commitment remains steadfast through the coronavirus pandemic. Having learned how THEARC, St. John’s Community Services and the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys have responded to the increased demand for services during the past year’s crisis, we are honored to continue our presenting sponsorship of the Washington Winter Show, whose proceeds benefit these outstanding nonprofits. Each of these organizations is making a difference in the lives of underserved families and we applaud them on their mission. We also congratulate the Washington Winter Show leadership team for their tremendous work over the past few year to take this beloved show into a live environment once again. With its theme of “Bloom,” which the Mirriam-Webster dictionary defines as a state or time of beauty, freshness, and vigor, you are sure to find one-of-a-kind treasures among the exquisite antiques, fine arts and other collectibles that are for sale. This weekend’s show offers something for everyone. Among the exciting highlights are the Friday luncheon and lecture featuring esteemed British designer Henriette Spencer-Churchill, the author of 11 books. During the Saturday design panel, hear from Laura Hodges, named by Home & Design as a “Designer to Watch,” and Janie Molster, whose work has been featured in several national publications, including House Beautiful, Southern Living, Coastal Living, and the Wall Street Journal. Interested in learning about Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens, home of the late Marjorie Merriweather Post? Kate Markert, its executive director, will speak on Saturday afternoon along with the chief curator, Dr. Wilfried Zeisler . On Saturday evening, don’t miss Jazz Night, and on Sunday morning, you’re invited for waffles and cocktails during a presentation on Chinoiserie with artist, art historian and interior designer Aldous Bertram, an expert in the historical influence of China on English garden design and architecture. My team and I look forward to seeing you throughout the weekend. In the meantime, if PNC Private Bank can be of assistance to you, please feel free to contact me directly at Celandra.
