Veneto 17, 19038 Sarzana (SP) Italy For details and viewing times, visit www.czernys.com Czerny’s International Auction House is celebrating its 100th auction with important sales of militaria and arms and armor. The historic material is divided among two catalogue volumes totaling 922 lots being sold May 1st and May 2nd, 2020. The first volume, the Militaria Catalogue, offers the first part of an important private collection with a focus on Prussia, the Russian Empire, Austria and Italy, and also including Bavaria, Saxony, Hannover, Mecklenburg, and other European States. In addition to very rare helmets and uniforms from Tsarist Russia, an attila from the property of Nicholas II as Commander of the Lifeguard Hussar’s regiment, a personal uniform of Emperor Franz Joseph I, one uniform of Emperor Wilhelm II, a Prussian regimental flag with flag ribbons, a Bavarian general’s uniform, a supraveste of the Hard Sheer, another of the Prussian Guard du Corps, and a fine range of Russian edged weapons, some from the famous John Mollo collection. The first part of the collection has an extensive range of medals and decorations and includes, among others, an embroidered St. Andreas star owned by the GFM von Blucher Prince of Wahlstatt, a full dress of the Bavarian St. George Order Commander dated 1820, and a cased cross set of the Ernestine House Order. The second volume, the Fine Antique Arms Catalogue, offers a variety of extremely rare firearms, including a flintlock double- barreled shotgun from the famous workshop of Versailles, a fantastic double-barreled rifle with genuine gold mounts by Gastinne-Renette dated 1863, a rare flintlock shotgun by Gauvain, and an interesting flintlock rifle from royal Bavarian ownership. Among other star lots are two puffers of the guard of the Saxon King Christian II, and an important kilij from the collection of the Maharajah of Cooch Behar. Additionally on offer is a collection of eighteenth-century extraordinary sun compasses and clocks, a large collection of Japanese katana and wakizashi, two complete armors, and a collection of oriental arms. left to right: Lot 34: An important small sword of the Legion of Honour.
