Kane April 21, 2017 The Philadelphia Antiques & Art Show at The Navy Yard South Broad Street & Intrepid Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 19112 For more information, visit www.adadealers.com or www.philadelphiaantiquesandartshow.com On April 21, The Antiques Dealers’ Association of America (ADA) will honor this year’s recipient of the ADA Award of Merit: Dr. Patricia Kane, The Friends of American Arts Curator of American Decorative Arts at the Yale University Art Gallery. The award recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions to the fields of American fine and decorative arts. “I am very honored to have been chosen to receive the award from the ADA,” says Kane. “The role of dealers in the art market is essential to the world of collectors and museums. Dealers are often the best teachers because of their finely-honed connoisseurship skills and the excitement they generate with new discoveries.” A specialist in early American silver and furniture, Kane’s decades of scholarship have proved groundbreaking in advancing knowledge within her specialty disciplines. Most recently, she orga- nized Art and Industry in Early America: Rhode Island Furniture, 1650–1830 (Yale University Art Gallery, August 16, 2016–January 8, 2017), and serves as the director of the Rhode Island Furniture Archive, a repository of scholarly materials related to furniture and furniture making. The Award event will be held in conjunction with The Philadelphia Antiques & Art Show and will feature a catered dinner and include remarks from guest speakers. Admission is $95 and includes entry to the show. Highlights Patricia E. Kane, 2017 recipient of the ADA’s Award of Merit. Courtesy Yale University Art Gallery.
